fiction to reality
I read fiction. I like reading fiction. I used to think I did it because it would distract me from my real world. I could escape to wizards or aliens instead of thinking about tests or homework.
As I got older, I have found that the true reason I enjoy fiction so much is that fiction can teach us what it means to be human. Often times it creates these really wild scenarios — hiding with a group of strangers from a bunch of space pirates over some kind of political unrest— to teach us something fundamental about who we are as humans — at the end of the day, we are all in this together. Poor example. You get the idea.
Myth and legends are used, throughout time, to teach us lessons. Today, in lieu of our elders passing down these stories, we have fiction books. We would be wise to learn from them.
